Ewart & Associates offers top-quality auditing, review and consulting services to credit unions. All of our clients are credit unions - we work ONLY in this industry.

Based in Miami Lakes, Florida, we have over 30 years of experience auditing credit unions and financial institutions. We serve credit union clients throughout Florida, North Carolina and the Virgin Islands.

Professional, Experienced, Knowledgeable

The staff at Ewart & Associates, LLC brings together a wide range of knowledge and experience to offer credit unions a unique perspective. We have extensive backgrounds in auditing, financial institutions, fraud auditing, technology and information security.

Also unique to our firm is the strong presence of the Ewart family. We have two generations of the Ewart family currently working full time. A family based firm ensures that the firm's commitment to quality and dedicated service remains strong, even as the organization grows its list of clientele.


Our Professional Staff


Ed Ewart, CPA
Ed is a partner in the firm and is certified to practice in the State of Florida and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has over 30 years of experience auditing financial institutions. After 14 years at Price Waterhouse and working for Eastern Financial Florida Credit Union in senior management, he started his own practice, where he decided to focus on the credit union industry. Since then the firm has grown the practice significantly and now has clients throughout the State of Florida.

Rick Ewart, CPA, CISSP, CAMS
Rick is a partner in the firm and also is in charge of our technology practice. Today’s emphasis is on assisting credit union meet their Part 748 E-Commerce responsibilities as required by NCUA and the State of Florida. He is a CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) and CAMS certified.

Previous consulting work related to assisting our clients meet their various responsibilities. This work often includes the renovation of existing systems and the installation of computer equipment, software, and networks.

Rick has been involved in public accounting and credit unions since 1987. In addition to the auditing of credit union financial statements, Rick has performed extensive consulting work for our clients in the areas of systems, computers, system security, and other technology needs.

Rick received special recognition from the Broward County Chapter of Credit Unions for his continued assistance to credit unions. He was one of two guest speakers at an NCUA training program for its top 100 IS&T Examiners. Rick is a regular guest speaker and presenter at the Credit Union InfoSecurity Conferences held in Las Vegas and New Orleans as well as other events that are both regional and national in scope.

Mike Ewart, CFE
Mike is a partner in the firm and joined the firm in 2001. He had a fourteen year background in management operations and has a reputation for being skilled at resolving difficult operating situations.

Mike is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and is a CFE. He is experienced with accounting and auditing, ACH auditing and compliance, computers, information systems and Internet Web development. His background and training are very useful when we are conducting fraud investigations.
